Description
Observe the movement of a ball after impact! Experiment with the magnitude, duration and direction of the acting force and compare the movement with or without an impact. Find out the role of the mass or initial velocity play after impact.
Arrows are used to show the total velocity and the speeds in x- and y-directions. Movements can also be analysed using stroboscopic images.
Sample Learning Goals:
- Observe the movement of a body after impact
- Explore how magnitude, duration and direction of the force change the movement
- Explore changes in mass and initial velocity
- Compare motion with and without impact in a strobe light illustration
- Resolve vectors into x- and y-components
- Principle of vector addition
